REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • OSHA 1910.157(g)(1): Employers must offer educational programs on fire extinguisher use and the hazards of incipient stage firefighting for all employees.


  • OSHA 1910.157(g)(2): This education must be provided upon initial employment and at least annually thereafter.


  • OSHA 1910.157(g)(3): Designated employees must receive training in the use of firefighting equipment as part of the emergency action plan.


  • OSHA 1910.157(g)(4): This training for designated employees must be provided upon initial assignment and at least annually thereafter.
